Pioneers of the fragrance industry and royal luxury, creed colognes are a top-of-the-line fragrance, designed by Olivier Creed, son of the ancient glove maker.
From the British Royal family to the last queen of France, manufacturing custom-made fragrances is how the brand gained its traction and positioning in today’s fragrance market.
So whether you’re looking for a new fragrance to simply add to your collection or a special-occasion scent, you’re sure to find it on this list of the 7 best Creed Colognes for men.
What are the Best Creed Colognes?
What makes Creed colognes special?
What separates Creed cologne for men from other colognes in the market are two factors:
Exclusivity: The key to offering sentimental value, that influences feelings of superiority.
Unique complexions: Some of the most abstract fragrances descended from Creed, along with some of the simplest-smelling fragrances.
Royal Heritage: Since Creed has been around longer than any perfume brand we can recall, it was once their job to make fragrances for royalty.
How I Tested and Selected The Best Creed Colognes
We’re all familiar with Creed, a brand synonymous with its luxurious, albeit high-priced fragrances. The hefty price tags, however, are not without justification.
Creed colognes have built a reputation for leaving an indelible impression, ensuring you won’t encounter one without being thoroughly impressed.
In narrowing down my selection to a top 7, I’ve considered fragrances that align with Creed’s signature style and elegance. The designs, while variations of the classic bottle shape, exhibit a tasteful mix of colors and gradients. They exude sophistication and make a striking statement on any fragrance enthusiast’s shelf.
In the pursuit of identifying the best among these, I focused on key elements crucial for an investment in an expensive cologne.
Longevity is, of course, a paramount factor, ensuring that the fragrance lingers gracefully throughout the day. The wow factor, that intangible quality that elevates a scent from good to extraordinary, was a crucial consideration.
However, it’s essential to strike a balance, ensuring that the fragrance doesn’t overpower but instead leaves a lasting, memorable impression.
In-Depth Creed Cologne Reviews
Creed Green Irish Tweed is a hardcore tangy/green masculine EDP with a level of sophistication that pairs flawlessly with every and any personality.
This classic scent features top notes of iris and lemon verbena, a heart of violet leaves, and a base of ambergris. These unique and complementary notes come together to create a fresh and elegant fragrance that is sure to turn heads.
Versatility is a strong suit, suitable for various scenarios due to its composed and confident aura. From office settings to date nights and outdoor events, it adapts seamlessly. It may lack a bit in extreme cold, but otherwise, it excels across different scenarios.
The lasting power of the fragrance allows it to seamlessly transition from day to night without needing to be reapplied, and that’s by far my favorite thing about it.
Overall, Green Irish Tweed by Creed is a truly versatile choice for any fragrance lover’s collection.
Top Notes: Lemon Verbena, Iris

This iconic scent is ideal for confident men who want to make a statement. It features top notes of bergamot and blackcurrant, middle notes of birch and jasmine, and base notes of oakmoss and vanilla.
Whether you’re headed to a formal event or just out with friends, Aventus is sure to impress. The longevity is solid A+. Lasts all day, and the projection is on point without being overpowering. This scent knows how to make a statement.
Agewise I’d say this cologne suits over 20’s. It’s not exactly youthful, but for my mature, sophisticated crew, Aventus is your go-to.
Best described as tangy wood essences with a potent hint of leather, Creed Aventus is a perfect crowd-pleaser.
As for when to wear it, I’d say anytime. The balance of fruitiness, freshness, and a touch of smokiness makes it a year-round winner. Just maybe skip it for the super conservative office vibes.

Similar to Millesime Imperial, which I ranked straight after, the two scents share the same base characters of bergamot and mandarin orange.
In other words, both Millesime Imperial and Silver Mountain Water are fresh airy fragrances made for hot weather.
To me, Creed Silver Mountain Water offers a very clean type of scent and isn’t overbearing at all. The musk note gives this fragrance its heart in my opinion and keeps it from becoming a completely light and airy affair.
I would describe the scent as more casual and professional than it is seductive and sexy, It can be considered the Versace Eau Fraiche equivalent in the Versace collection.
Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin Orange blossom
Middle Notes: Green Tea, Black Currant
Base Notes: Musk, Petitgrain, Sandalwood, Galbanum
What we liked
- A strictly natural scent
- Light and expressive
- Perfectly Unisex
Creed describes Millesime Imperial as “Fit for Royalty”, and here at Scent Selective we must agree.
This fragrance, in my opinion, outshines other fruity aquatics I’ve encountered. This fragrance is versatile, suitable for anyone, and exudes a wonderful freshness.
Creed Millesime Imperial to us is like taking the best notes of all fragrances on this list and intertwining them into a single creation.
With each shift in accords, I get reminiscences of different Creed fragrances, as the middle character reminds us of Creed Irish tweed, while the tangy opening screams Silver Mountain Water.
But with light airy consistency comes a slight lacking performance, the longest this fragrance has lasted on me no longer than 4-5 hours.
Top Notes: Sea Salt , Fruity Notes
Middle Notes: Sicilian Lemon, Bergamot, Iris, Mandarin Orange
Base Notes: Sea Notes, Musk, Woody Notes
What we liked
- Sensual and energizing
- Soft and expressive
- Perfectly Unisex
How can we not include one of the rarest Oud balances of all time?
Wood, leather, marble, and gold. These luxurious elements of a Persian palace are the inspiration behind the architecture of Royal Oud.
The composition includes ingredients like cashmere, a musky note that adds a clean and minty quality. I also detected a herbaceous touch, likely from the herbaceous and wood-like raw materials. The scent has a certain spiciness that contributes to its older, elegant vibe.
Regarding the performance, it’s not a monstrous fragrance that fills a room, but it has a decent projection. The longevity is satisfactory, and the fragrance maintains its presence throughout the day.
In terms of personal preference, I find it to be a clean, elegant scent, but it lacks the boldness I usually seek in oud fragrances. It has an older gentleman’s fragrance feel to it.
This rich and complex scent is perfect for those who want an opulent fragrance. It features top notes of oud wood and bergamot, middle notes of rosemary and cypress, and base notes of sandalwood and vetiver oil.
The dominant notes of oud and sandalwood provide a masculine touch, while hints of pepper and lavender add complexity to the overall aroma.
Top Notes: Pink Pepper, Lemon, Sicilian Bergamot
Middle Notes: Cedar, Angelica, Galbanum
Base Notes: Sandalwood, , Agarwood (Oud), Musk
What we liked
- Macho man essences
- Perfectly formal
- Projects highly in the winter
One of the most masculine fragrances on this list- Creed Viking offers a soft seductive edge while remaining true to its bold character.
Creed Viking offers a balanced complexion that is suitable for all seasons, but it comes off more as a fall/spring cologne.
Over time, my opinion on Viking has evolved. The opening, with its cooling mint and sweet spiciness, has grown on me. The fragrance transforms from the initial burst to a more refined and modern aroma in the dry down.
Performance-wise, Viking delivers above-average longevity (8+ hours) but has a moderate projection. It’s a versatile scent that fits various occasions, day or night.
If I were to recommend this fragrance to a specific taste, we’d say that this creed scent is for classic lovers.
Overall, Viking is the perfect choice for a classic yet contemporary cologne that will never go out of style.
Top Notes: Pink Pepper, Spicy Mint, Bergamot, Lemon, Absinthe, Orange
Middle Notes: Lavender, Bulgarian Rose, Clove, Allspice, Jasmine, Orris Root
Base Notes: Vetiver, Cedar, White Musk, Tonka Bean
What we liked
- Classic essences
- Simple complexion
- Perfect for casual wear
With more of the unisex note that helped the brand become as famous as it is today, Creed Vetiver is a fragrance with a balanced green/wood character.
Although the scent predominantly leans toward masculinity projecting green forestry auras similar to notes you’d find in Vetiver by Guerlain Paris.
A hint of soothing powdery notes accompanies the mix of green and wood making it a musky grass-like fragrance perfect for every and any season.
One aspect that initially gave me pause about this fragrance was its longevity, as I’d heard some people mention it didn’t linger on the skin for an extended period. However, when I finally experienced it myself, I was pleasantly surprised. The longevity turned out to be rather impressive, and the scent persisted for a significant duration.
If you’re considering this fragrance, I’d recommend testing it on your skin first, perhaps in a shop, to gauge how it performs for you. Everyone’s skin chemistry is different, and what might be a fleeting scent for one person could be a long-lasting gem for another.
Overall, Creed Original Vetiver represents an elevated level of elegance and charm, making it a must-have addition to any fragrance collection.
Its carefully crafted combination of citrus, spices, and woody notes creates the perfect balance of masculine and sophisticated.
Middle Notes: Haitian Vetiver, Sandalwood, Iris
Base Notes: Musk, Ambergris
What we liked
- Warm and seductive
- Easy to pull-off
- Energizing burst of freshness
