Armaf Club De Nuit Sillage Review

The jury is out; Sillage Armaf is hands down the closest thing to Creed Silver Mountain Water (SMW). This 2020 release, with its citrusy, musky scent, shares notes similar to the original fragrance, notably black currant, bergamot, citrus, musk, and wood. 

In addition, Sillage boasts a citrus-forward opening, an exceptional performance, and dries down to a smooth woodsy floral musk. The one thing missing is the green tea accord.

A quick sniff releases a sharp blast of citrus, a powerful combination featuring bergamot, lemon, and lime. You can feel the vibrancy from the zesty trio, which soon gives way to a tart but fruity black currant accompanied by floral hints.

The grand finale comes with ambroxan, musk, and woods, bringing in a sweet, creamy muskiness plus an elegant end to the refreshing fragrance.

It sits a bit closer to the skin than Silver Mountain Water on me. But it’s a good alternative if you’re not looking for something as natural or expensive but still want the essence of Silver Mountain Water.

Rasasi Al Wisam Day Review

A close contender for the best Creed Silver Mountain Water Clone, Al Wisam Day EDP captures the vitality and drive of a contemporary man in a complex, refined, and thrillingly invigorating floral composition featuring sensual woods.  

The initial spray impressed with broad coverage and a scent that combines aquatic rose with bergamot and amber sweetness. The fragrance evolves into a mature, distinguished vibe with oak moss and geranium, reminiscent of Creed Silver Mountain Water.

You can expect 10+ hours of excellent performance with great projection. 

Al Wisam begins and ends like SWM, citrusy, and then warm muskiness. Still, the fragrance maintains its own identity because what stands out are the florals, notably rose, with hints of sage, sandalwood, and amber.

Overall, it’s a retro, mature take on the Silver Mountain Water DNA, executed remarkably well by Rasasi.

Top Tip: Sandalwood is a common note in perfumes and colognes thanks to its calming effect.

Ajmal Silver Shade Review

Silver Shade is a unisex aromatic, fruity fragrance introduced in 2012. It is characterized by airy florals that feel rich and smooth. Like SMW, the cologne welcomes you with a strong citrusy aroma, while the overall scent conjures Creed Silver Mountain.

However, Silver Shade Ajmal’s opening is more potent, with the Mandarin orange replaced by tangy lime and lemon. Also, a subtle metallic element appears at the onset, making the opening slightly overwhelming.

What stands out is its versatility. It’s great for work, offering a pleasant, not-too-overpowering scent. It also works for dates, providing an okay to good appeal, and the gym, making it an everyday, easy-to-wear fragrance. It retains the citrusy qualities of Silver Mountain Water, making it suitable for various occasions and seasons.

As for cons, the only notable drawback is its lower projection, which is consistent with the DNA of Silver Mountain Water and some of its clones.

Cremo Silver Water and Birch Review

Cremo’s Silver Water and Birch is a simple yet luxurious male fragrance with aquatic head notes resting on a white birch background. Its crisp, light quality accords it with an aura similar to Silver Mountain Water.  

Released in 2017, the pleasant-smelling fragrance aimed to capture the experience of diving into an icy mountain lake amidst clean, cool moss and woods. 

I found the fragrance to be calming, reminiscent of Creed’s Silver Mountain Water. However, it might appeal more to a specific audience, leaning towards a metrosexual vibe.

I’d suggest this scent for daytime wear, especially in high heat or during summer vacations.

Cremo creates premium fragrances at affordable prices, and this one is no exception. Consider layering with a more complex scent to add depth and enhance performance.

Musky Green Tea By Dossier Review

According to the Dossier website, the inspiration behind Musky Green Tea (2020) was Creed Silver Mountain Water. This niche perfume comes in Eau de Parfum concentration and is marketed towards both genders. 

Dossier “reimagines” iconic designer scents like Silver Mountain Water. All their perfumes are vegan, cruelty-free, and made using clean ingredients. In our case, the result is a sparkly concoction that emulates the biting edge of chilly Alpine air or cascading streams.

This bright cologne kicks off with an olfactory surprise; crisp, refreshing notes and an exhilarating accord. The splash of unbelievable freshness is quite welcoming as it ushers in a remarkable cooling effect – thanks to the green tea note. 

It opens with familiar notes of citrus, neroli, and black currant, creating a clean, musky, and tea-like vibe. The fragrance mirrors Silver Mountain Water at about 95%, making it an attractive and affordable alternative to the pricey original.

The blend is refreshing, professional, and leans towards a masculine vibe, perfect for office settings.

While sandalwood is usually creamy, there’s no sweetness in this fragrance. It’s more about cleanliness and elegance.

Armaf Derby Club House Blanche Review

Armaf comes in again, this time with Derby Club House Blanche EDT cologne. This number echoes the OG’s ultra-fresh, welcoming scent and zesty vibe. Moreover, the presence of aquatic notes in the composition helps create a cool, chilled fragrance. 

It closely mirrors Silver Mountain Water, with slight differences. The Armaf version has a more aquatic feel, a touch of synthetic sweetness, and a slightly rougher edge. Silver Mountain Water boasts richer musk in the dry down, with nuances that elevate it. Still, in the air, they’re remarkably similar.

Despite the differences, considering Derby Clubhouse Blanche is over 13 times cheaper than Silver Mountain Water, it’s a fantastic budget-friendly alternative. Club de Nuit Intense Man by Armaf is pricier but performs better.

Overall, it’s a steal for a Silver Mountain Water alternative on a budget. Though Silver Mountain Water is superior, Derby Clubhouse Blanche is an excellent 95% match for a fraction of the cost.

Frank Olivier Sun Java White Man Review

Finally, we have this 2011 woody aromatic, which also strives to emulate the exceedingly-cold quality of Silver Mountain Water at a fraction of the cost.

The two scents share notable similarities – they capture the essence of mountain streams in the Swiss Alps – but Creed’s Mountain Water is more refined.

Sun Java White smells fantastic; all soft and musky, with a natural edge. The fruity/floral fragrance is sweet and subtly spicy with dominant citrus. Still, the opening might come off as pretty intense for some. Overall, it is neither too heavy nor too airy and is reminiscent of fresh fruits in the summer.

A whiff of Sun Java White reveals a solid blast of fresh citrus notes accompanied by hints of blackcurrant and peppermint notes. The latter help to accentuate the icy opening while warm sweet woods wrap up the scent in a musky-ambery embrace. As for the core, rosemary and mint stand out. 

When it comes to performance, Sun Java offers decent longevity for an EDT (about 5 hours on my skin). Some users complain the staying power is on the lower side, but I don’t expect it to be outstanding for a dupe.

The perfume is available at a bargain, and while it’s no beast performer, it’s unique enough to make a worthy addition to your fragrance collection. Sun Java White is perfect for daytime wear in summer and spring.
