Tom Ford Noir Extreme Review

Noir Extreme By Tom Ford is a fragrance for men, and the packaging reflects this. It is ultra-masculine with solid lines. A simple print (in black) appears on the face of the package, indicating the fragrance name and concentration. Simple. Clean. Sophisticated.

The translucent perfume bottle features a gold ribbed cap. In line with the aesthetics, it’s black in color and comes in a simple box with gold accents.

This Eau de Parfum is available in various sizes. You can buy it as a 0.33-ounce (9.75 ml) travel spray, 1.7 or 3.4-ounce (50 or 100ml) bottle. If you are purchasing the cologne for a friend, consider opting for the Tom Ford Noir Extreme gift set – it contains both bigger-size bottles.

Tom Ford Noir Extreme is warm, light, and markedly sweet with mysterious components. The cologne contains spices like cardamom and nutmeg, white florals (jasmine and orange blossom), rose absolute, kulfi, vanilla, woods, and amber.

This cologne starts off with a fresh burst of citrus and spice. The core of the fragrance hosts a floral bouquet, kulfi, and mastic accords, while the base contains amber, sweet vanilla, and woods.

The first impression I get upon sniffing Noir Extreme is that this is a sweet, aromatic, and powdery composition. While it intrigues the mind and tantalizes the senses, notes from sweet vanilla surrounded by hints of nutmeg and cardamom are easy to pick out. 

Once the cologne settles, the gourmand tones transition into a warm, creamy, woody aroma. The amber accord at the base adds depth and somewhat intensifies the mystery encompassing this well-blended cologne. At the same time, the orange blossom at the core balances things out nicely with its citric notes.  

Pro Tip: Kulfi is a traditional Indian dessert with a nutty aroma. It is similar to ice cream and comprises pistachio and Himalayan snow.

Noir Extreme is an enduring scent that feels super luxurious. Its projection is on the moderate side, meaning it’s not overbearing or intrusive. The fragrance then dries down to a subtle yet compelling scent. 

On average, Noir cologne tends to project for over 4 hours. As for longevity, it pleasantly lingered for a solid 8+ hours on my skin. Rest assured, if you desire a fragrance that lasts throughout the day, there’s no need for hesitation with this one.

Noir cologne feels incredibly warm and cozy, id say it’s best worn during cool weather like winter. I can also picture it as the perfect fragrance during spring/summer evenings. 

And since it’s not a strong fragrance, you want to wear it when you desire something understated or intimate. That said, it’s a classy scent that fits in well at the office or when going on a date with someone special.

Despite the dessert-like aroma, this is a male fragrance. However, some women might find themselves drawn to the cologne’s sweet and floral essence.
