Gucci Bloom EDP vs. EDT Comparison Review

Gucci Bloom EDP vs. EDT Comparison Review

Gucci ranks among the world’s top luxury brands. To say the brand is wildly popular is an understatement. Fashion addicts drool over Gucci’s iconic statement pieces such as handbags, scarves, belts, attire, and, in our case, groundbreaking fragrances.

Gucci Bloom EDP and Bloom EDT are both inspired by flowers. However, the EDP features an aromatic bouquet of 3 white blooms, while the EDT has additional citrus notes like neroli, mandarin, and bergamot. The EDT is also lighter, richer, sweeter, and luminous, making it easier to wear.

In this Gucci Bloom review, we undertake an in-depth comparison between Gucci Bloom and Gucci Bloom EDT. Keep reading to find out which of the two to include in your fragrance wish list!

Gucci Bloom EDP vs. EDT

Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum, the first in the Gucci Bloom series, was a roaring success. So much so that it spawned amazing flankers, including Gucci Bloom Profumo Di Fiori, Gucci Bloom Ambrosia Di Fiori, and, most recently, the Gucci Bloom Eau de Toilette.

While the individual scents incorporate the original’s floral signature, they all contain unique characteristics and subtle nuances that make them distinctive. Perfumer Alberto Morillas conceived the entire collection.

No surprises here; Bloom EDP and EDT are both florals (the name is a dead giveaway).

Here’s a summary of the key features of the Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum and Gucci Bloom Eau de Toilette if you’re wondering,  ‘What does Gucci bloom smell like?’

Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum

Alberto Morillas came up with Gucci Bloom EDP in 2017. The captivating perfume features jasmine headnotes, a heart of tuberose, and a base of Rangoon creeper- a new scent with a rich aroma.

Given its floral inspiration, Gucci Bloom EDP was designed to transport the wearer to a lush garden filled with the intoxicating scents of multiple flowers in bloom. This profoundly feminine fragrance inspires you to be free to articulate your authenticity.

The EDP blossoms like a flower, opening to reveal its beautiful essence; a trio of all-natural white florals.

Jasmine buds unleash a heady, fresh, green aroma, while the flagrant Rangoon Creeper (a type of honeysuckle) imparts a powdery floral scent and a charming honey-sweet touch. Tuberose shines bright and fresh at the core, its natural green aura melding gloriously with the rich floral, creamy depths.

What Does Gucci Bloom Smell Like?

Deep, rich, and creamy, Gucci Bloom perfume smells like “the garden of Eden” or a bouquet of fresh-cut flowers. The opulent bouquet of jasmine, honeysuckle, and tuberose is deliciously intoxicating.

The perfume starts pretty intensely before settling into a softer, milder aroma. You inhale the fullness of the flowers, but they don’t weigh you down. Bloom evokes a real-life white flower garden, and the loudly absent woods and musks only fortify this notion. A truly beautiful scent. The perfume comes in a gorgeous pink-hued porcelain flacon – not standard glass – heightening Bloom’s appeal. A Toile de Jouy Herbarium imprint with flowers, leaves, and cherry branches frames the outer cover.

Gucci Bloom EDT

Gucci Released Gucci Bloom EDT as a fresh interpretation of the original Bloom in 2022. The new edition contains notes from neroli, bergamot, musk, and sandalwood. And like its predecessor, its inspiration was a colorful garden full of scented blooms.

The EDT’s captivating aroma takes things up by calling on women ready to “embrace their inner goddess and bloom into their truest self.” Heeding this call entails self-discovery and connecting with others despite differences.

Bloom EDT opens strong with a touch of lemon. Not long after, the jasmine-tuberose duo steals the show, finally evolving to a dry down that’s all about creamy musks and gentle woods interspersed with florals.

Gucci Bloom EDT takes on a delicate and fresh quality because of the neroli, bergamot, and mandarin notes alongside the Bloom accord. Furthermore, neroli’s sweet sharpness adds a new twist to Bloom’s DNA, making it even more dazzling.

This composition’s decadent blend of honeyed sweetness and green citrus accords is alluring. It awakens the senses with a fresh vitality, renewing your energy and beckoning you to face the day fearlessly. What results is an airy, uplifting, and more radiant blend with citrus accords adding a refreshing zesty vibe.

This Gucci Bloom scent comes in a frosted, pale pink flacon. The luminous, square-shaped receptacle also sports the unmistakable vintage print featuring a profusion of leaves, flowers, and cherry branches.

Which Gucci Bloom Is the Best?

Both Gucci Bloom formulations celebrate the vitality and diversity of women that dare to experience life to its fullest, allowing their authentic identities to bloom.

Gucci Bloom perfume enables women to flourish naturally without constraints, while the EDT coaxes women to bloom into their most authentic selves.

Also, Gucci Bloom EDP maintains its initial aroma all through. It doesn’t alter even after hours of continuous wear.

This consistency is unique as most scents typically go through a gradual progression, with the top notes easing to usher in the heart notes, finally giving way to the base notes. The latter typically linger, settling into a skin scent with extended wear. However, with the EDP, it’s the same experience throughout.

The EDP is exceptionally well-balanced. It strikes a delicate balance between deeply intoxicating and appealing while being easy to wear. It’s cool and modern yet retains a retro vibe.

The only downside to this gorgeous fragrance is the lack of additional notes to add more facets to the overall scent. As it is, the trio of white florals might feel “too much” to some users. On its part, Gucci EDT is deliciously enticing, making it appropriate for women of all ages. It also works for most occasions. It is also easier to wear than the EDP because the citrus cuts through the rich sweetness of the flowers.
